Damien Matter

What some would call an ‘interesting’ artist - not in a strange, creepy way but in a round-about Hitchcock way - his art is intriguing, exploring the depths of the human psyche and its relationship with sex, love, violence, and beauty. Starting graffiti at the age of sixteen, Damien quickly adapted to the flow and movement of the art form, setting himself amongst the ranks of both the envied and talented. As graffiti is an art form of ego, so too is Damien’s inner artistic being, eventually digging its way out and pouring onto the wall alongside the twisting letter scapes and connections that is graffiti.

It is when this eccentric side breaks free that one can really begin to appreciate the depths of the puzzle that is Damien Matter. His art at once shocks, confounds, and intrigues in an unavoidable manner, catching you unawares like lightning in the corner of your eye.
